What is Breathwork ?
It's a therapeutic technique that uses breathing practices to take you to a transcendent state of consciousness, where unconscious and previously repressed ideas, sensations and emotions can easily come to the surface. It's an opportunity and also an invitation to move stagnant energy and release tension, letting go of what no longer serves you.
Have you ever noticed how your breathing changes depending on your mood? When you're excited, scared or euphoric, you tend to breathe more quickly. When you're relaxed, sleepy or calm, you tend to breathe more deeply, more slowly. Becoming aware of the way we breathe and breathing with intention profoundly changes the way we experience life. Being able to trigger the breath is one of the best techniques to help get through emotions, whether they are interpreted as good or bad. It's impossible, for example, to have a full-body orgasm without paying attention to your breathing. Therefore, we can use breathing in different ways to access different emotions and have different experiences.
This tool is extremely effective for identifying and breaking old patterns of thought and behavior that are already ingrained in our subconscious. This is because it acts directly on our Autonomic Nervous System, regulating automatic functions, calming the mind and modifying states of anxiety and stress.
